Objectives
This specification has been developed to benefit the industry in four specific ways. These are:
1. Scalable data model interface for instrumentation and control using JSON data representation
2. Coexistence with alternate data sourcing models
3. Self-describing, composable hardware building blocks suitable for creation of automated factory equipment
4. Robust data set capable of enabling digital twinning at the machine-level
